Update July 2017
Sing to the Lord, praise his name, and proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
Psalm 96: 2-3
One of the most important things we do it is to glorify God in all we do. We give thanks to God especially for all of you and the inspiration you are, how you encourage us to continue ministering among all peoples.

Mission Opportunity at the Episcopal Church in Roatan.
Now is the time to prepare, spiritually and financially, for a Short Tern Mission Team. If God is calling you and your church to mission, The Episcopal Church in Roatan formally invites you to organize a team, come down and experience the same God in a different culture, but especially to come and spend time with many of our parishioners.
There is opportunity to minister or work in construction, VBS (Vacation Bible School), teaching, evangelism, home visitation, jail visitation, dump visitation and other areas.
Please contact Rev. Nelson and Kara Mejia revnelsonmejia@yahoo.com who are ready to help you begin the process and decide what kind of project you can do.

Mother’s Day is celebrated in Honduras everywhere by educational institutions, hospitals, churches, businesses and all other organizations. At the Episcopal Church the men took the opportunity to honour all the women at the church on the day; we surprised them with beautiful decorations and music. Then, after they had enjoyed a delicious dinner, a special guest singer came out when they least expected it and sang live special music for them that they all really enjoyed. Everybody enjoyed this, and it was a great blessing for the men who helped to make the day special.

As we do every year, we participated in the Diocesan Convention May 26-27. This event was an opportunity for our congregations’ delegates to engage with other Episcopalians in Honduras, and also for us to see the rest of the clergy that we don’t normally see.

Then as a family we stayed in Siguatepeque, my home town, visiting my parents and other family members.
Stephen is going into Grade 10 and Kelly to Grade 5; we are so proud of them. Time goes fast.

On June 18 we organized a Graduation for 13 kids from 7-13 years old that for three months received the discipleship training called The Great Adventure. We gave them an illustrated New Testament and a Diploma. During this time they learned about 12 different things about Jesus, and memorized 12 Bible verses, one per week. They were very happy to participate in the Great Adventure Course.

Please continue to pray for:
1. Continued financial support for the next years as we continue to serve the Lord on Roatán, Honduras.
2. The ongoing construction in Coxen Hole. Pray for the remaining installation stages: walls to be stuccoed, cement concrete for the floor and ceramic tiles.
3. Our congregations: St. Peter by the Sea in Brick Bay, and Emmanuel in Coxen Hole.
4. Nelson, who was asked by the Bishop to be part of a team helping those entering into the ordination process.
5. Gerardo, our youth leader, that God will continue to use him to guide the young people.
6. Short term mission teams who plan to come to Roatán in the near future from Canada.
7. Spiritual and practical outreach in the local communities.
8. The Episcopal Church in Honduras, for the process toward self-sufficiency by the end of 2019.
9. Kara, who was selected with another Priest to represent the Diocese of Honduras at an event in the USA. This is to work on a three-year program for youth ministry in our Province, which includes Honduras, Ecuador, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.
10. For Leadership for the Church in Roatan

Thank you very much for your prayers and continued support that enable us to continue in this ministry.

May God continue to richly bless you.
