The Roatan Happening Experience, March Update
The Happening does not propose a new type of spirituality, but provides a method through which one’s spirituality may be developed, nourished, lived and shared in fellowship with young Christians willing to dedicate their lives to God in an ongoing manner. The Happening movement believes that Jesus Christ has and will continue to make a difference in the world and in individual lives. Those attending Happening listen to thought-provoking and challenging talks given by members of the staff and clergy. These talks are designed to help the Happeners get to know God. After each talk, the opportunity is given for questions and discussion in small groups.
Instrument of Renewal
The Happening Movement is a powerful instrument of renewal in the Church. Its purpose is to concentrate closely on the person and teaching of Jesus Christ. Our faith is seriously examined in a relaxed, fun, informal and loving atmosphere. The Happening weekend is an experience that gives those who attend the desire to understand and serve God through his Church.
Our Own Happening
For the first time we ourselves held this event for the glory of God and thanks to the great effort and help from youth and adults from San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, la Ceiba and Roatan.
The Happening in Roatan was the spiritual experience of a lifetime for 30 young people from our church, including two from the Methodist Church and a few from the church in la Ceiba, which is part of our deanery.
We got together from Friday to Sunday, working hard to bring all before Jesus Christ. It was a blessing for all the candidates and the Happening team, and we saw the Holy Spirit manifest Himself in different ways during this wonderful weekend.
But the work is not finished, this is the beginning; as a result of this event we now meet together with and minister to about 30 young people every Saturday at both churches: Brick Bay and Coxen Hole.
Please pray for the relationship we are developing with them and that they can continue growing as they serve the Lord through the Episcopal Church in Roatan.
Thank you for all your prayers and support that enable us to do the ministry that the Lord has called us to do.
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them.” Ecclesiastes 12:1
May God continue to Bless You.
