Strategic Planning

Posted: June 27, 2008 in Uncategorized

Greetings from the beautiful island of Roatan,

From the 23rd-25th of June, our deanery of Atlantida e Islas de la Bahia, hosted three days of strategic planning in the city of La Ceiba. Personally it was a good experience, but very tiring. By the end of it, on Wednesday, I was at the end of the rope. My mind couldn’t handle any more thinking.  The worse part was that it was when we were going to put our goals and objectives into action per church.  I just couldn’t think anymore.

It all began by all of us walking around Ceiba being aware of our surroundings, praying and looking for opportunities to talk to people. Most of us know the area but we are so busy to take the time to digest what we see, really look into our surroundings. There are so many little things that we overlook.

Then together as a deanery we talked about the history of the church, from the very beginning to where we are now. We reflected on what we can learn about what happened in the past. We finished off the day on Monday dividing into our respective churches talking about who are target will be, what we offer,  what support do we have to be able to do it, and who are future clients will be. In Roatan we agreed to focuss our attention on women as consequently they are able to reach their husbands and children. The reality is that the mayority of the people in the church are women.

On Tuesday we talked about our advantages, the things that we do have as a deanery, then about the problems that we face, and lastly the opportunities to turn the problems into possibilities. We talked about what we do have that we could become best at.

We finished the workshop on Wednesday talking about our goals and objectives, and our action steps as churches as to how we are to accomplish these.

All in all, it was a very productive time. We do ask your prayers that together as a deanery and each individual church we can accomplish and put into action all that was decided and talked about.

The great part about blogs is that you can respond to what you read. If you have any comment, please feel free to post it.

Thank you and may God bless you.

Many Blessings to all our readers and supporters,

First of all we would like to begin by thanking you all for your support. Your support is invaluable to our ministry and for this reason we have set this up as a more efficient way to be in touch with you giving you the opportunity to share your ideas, and questions that you may have in regards to our ministry.

One of the ways that you can support us is through your prayers so here are a few prayer requests to keep in mind.

1. The pastoral house is not coming through, due to the lack of funding from the diocese so please pray that the Lord will provide a house for us.

2. The organization of our Women’s Cursillo exclusively for our deanery from November 6th – 9th. Please pray for the team and the Candidates that the Lord has for this time.

3. Please pray for Brent and his family here ministering with us for 6 weeks.

4. For the Bible Study that Brent will begin next Wednesday.

5. For Jessy, Helen, and Hernan as they are being prepared as leaders in the church.
